“You should start a blog. There’s loads of stuff to write about here.”
This was my brother talking; a talented, creative and successful writer and photographer (you can catch him at http://www.speed-blur.com and http://www.chasingunknowndreams.com). I on the other hand, am a full time mum to two girls, wife to a husband who spends much of his time across the pond, and landlord of eleven properties.
The notion that I might find the time to blog, when I barely find the time to do the essentials like ironing and filing, let alone get my roots done and relax with a book, seemed crazy.
But the more I thought about it, the more I thought that it might be fun.
We’ve just moved to a new house in rural North Essex. It’s a long term project, inside and out. But we’ve got big plans and a month in, despite the initial intrepidation at taking on such a big project, and the constant stream of electricians, plasterers and builders, we’re loving it. And Millsy was right. In that month, we’ve seen and experienced things unlike anything at our old house.
So I’ve taken the plunge and am going to try my hand at blogging. I hope it’s interesting and fun to read. And if the grammar is a bit iffy, and the writing not as eloquent as it could be, then please excuse me. It’s probably because I’m typing with one hand and making play dough frogs with the other.
Ah, I am so happy I get to read about your life!
Good for you! And your writing isn’t iffy. I’m going to live a country life vicariously through you! X
